3 Best Educational Shows for Toddlers and Pre-schoolers– A Handy Guide for Parents

We congratulate every parent who has made it to 2020 without jeopardizing their toddlers’s education. If you need some screen time to help you through some of those long days, check out my selection of the greatest educational shows for toddlers and preschoolers.

With such a significant shift in people’s habits, ‘indoor life’ has only increased parental responsibilities to enable their children to play and study at home without jeopardizing their development. With so much spare time on their hands, many youngsters, like adults, were exposing themselves to harmful amounts of screen time.

You may not agree with this approach (and neither do we), but given the need of the hour, you may wish to choose educational shows that will encourage your children to learn new things while still keeping them entertained.

After all, this is THE golden period of learning, when your child matures and absorbs new information while trying to make sense of the world around them. It’s critical to use strategic parenting techniques to ensure that they’re only exposed to the most important and acceptable stuff.

In this post, we’ll assist you in achieving that aim by recommending some of our favorite shows for your toddler or preschooler to watch.

We also urge your child or preschooler to learn more from real-life situations than from television entertainment. A child’s intellect is amazing, and what better way to bring out their abilities than to allow them to explore their creativity?

Toddlers and Preschoolers’ Favorite Educational Shows

Tune in to any of these instructional shows for your toddler when you need some quiet time for yourself. If your child is learning anything, you won’t feel bad about allowing them some screen time.

1. Bubble Guppies – Nick Jr.

Bubble Guppies follows many cute guppies boys and girls to pre-school, where they enjoy going to school, meeting friends, and having fun. Through friendship, the characters impart themes such as counting, tales, science, and reading to infants.

Every episode features appealing tunes and well-crafted narrative lines to offer your youngster a healthy mix of enjoyment and instruction. This was a favorite of my daughter’s. I was so impressed with how much she was learning from it, and I couldn’t get the catchy melodies out of my brain!

2. Sesame Street

Sesame Street is a pioneer in children’s educational television. Since its inception in 1969, the program has served and amused many generations of children (including the one who is now writing this article!) and has a devoted audience for all the correct reasons.

The show seeks to educate children on fundamental math and alphabets such as counting and ABCs and moral qualities such as friendship, honesty, hard work, teamwork, trustworthiness, and nearly anything else you want to teach your children.

With a team of scholars and creative minds behind it, the show’s rich material, fascinating tale, relatable characters, and bright graphics will have your preschooler looking to learn more after each episode and asking you a slew of intriguing questions.

The Who Was? Show – Netflix

The Who Was? The show is based on a popular book series of the same name and brings historical individuals to life. This program is geared at older preschoolers, but toddlers will like it.

Learning about historical personalities and their contributions to history is essential, especially at this age.

Preschoolers, in particular, are always on the lookout for a role model to adore, learn from, and emulate. ‘The Who Was? Show’ assists your children in this regard. The program doesn’t neglect to bring an element of amusement and enjoyment to the learning trip with its engaging plot and well-researched characters.
