Tips for Successful Online Classes During Covid 19

Tips for Successful Online Classes During Covid 19

By now, we are all getting a little bored with online schooling. Unfortunately, it seems like the Coronavirus lockdown will continue for a while in many parts of the world. Here are some essential tips to help you get through online classes during lockdown!

Keep Track of Your Schoolwork

The less you physically go to school, the less you can keep up with your homework. Many students are late, which is expected under the current situation.

However, for many schools, the material for the final exam will not change. So, if you do nothing for school now, you will have to do more later. Besides, you won’t be forced to study with so many absences and fewer classes than usual. Hence, keeping up with your schoolwork as much as possible will surely help.

Wake Up on Time

Many admit to waking up five minutes before the first lesson and sitting sleepily in front of the laptop. Everyone does this from time to time, but it’s best to eat breakfast, get dressed, and look presentable before your online lesson.

Put Your Cell Phone in Another Room

Scrolling through Instagram during class or chatting with friends because online courses are boring is not a good idea. An easy way to avoid being distracted by your phone is to put your phone in another room. It works wonders!

Give Your Eyes a Break

Staring at a screen all day is terrible for your eyes. You may have already noticed that your eyes are tense and dry. Try to avoid looking at the screen as much as possible and occasionally look at something in the distance.

By relaxing your eyes, you reduce your chances of becoming nearsighted. Optionally, you can buy “blue light filtered glasses” that will make your eyes feel less tired.

Have a Routine

Routines are extremely powerful. When you build a routine, your brain works as if it is on “autopilot” during the routine. This can save you a lot of energy and effort. Routines also provide structure and clarity during these difficult times.

Why not start with a morning routine? It is a great way to start your day without stress. Here are some examples:

  • Blinds open
  • Window open
  • Lights on
  • Bed making
  • Drinking water
  • Face wash/shower
  • Get Dressed
  • Morning meal
  • Watch a YouTube video
  • Start Online Course

Actively Participate in Class

Online classes are boring. Unfortunately, that’s just the way it is. Teachers do their best to keep students interested in their lessons, but teaching through a screen is not simple.

If you actively participate in online lessons, you’ll learn more, have less to do after school, and won’t fall behind. Be sure to take notes!

Keep in Touch With Friends

With this lockdown, you will immediately lose contact with friends and classmates that you usually see at school. For some people, this can have a significant impact on their feelings. Thus, it may be a good idea to call, chat, or play with friends occasionally.

Have an Appropriate Learning Environment

Many schools allow students who don’t want or can’t stay at home to take online classes at school. This is a good idea if you don’t have a quiet place to study at home.

On the other hand, clear out a room, especially a desk, if you’re at home. You’ll be spending a lot of time in that space, so it’s more pleasant if it’s clutter-free. This will also make it easier to stay organized.

Do Your Best

Online education can quickly demotivate you, and that’s understandable. Especially in this cold winter, it becomes difficult to be brave and take action, but please keep up the good work! Especially if you were not doing well in school, take this opportunity to improve your grades.
